Chapter 3

"Things are going well so far. We've persuaded Rosenbaum inc. to sign our contract so now we'll have more funding," a man said, shrouded in darkness by the shadows as he sat at a desk with other men who were also well-hidden in the dark.
"I agree. I told you this plan would work," a man said.
"A lot better than that crackpot, Gero," a man grumbled and others voiced their agreement. One voice spoke out of all of them and they all settled down, "All right, all right, calm down. Granted Gero was out of his league when he started his experiments, but not all of them were failures."
The others couldn't help but ponder that and agree.

"So how did things go with Juunanagou?" Tien asked as he lifted a dumbbell (SP?) effortlessly over his head. Chaotzu was inside cooking and Yamcha was sitting nearby in a lawn chair with a glass of lemonade he had made for him.
"What can I say? I'm proud. He'll probably wanna do things like this more often. Of course, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear about our next trip," Yamcha said with a sly grin. Tien looked at him and Yamcha dug in his pocket to bring out three strips of paper and Tien's eyes rose. All three.

Scarlet Bandeau Records. Juunanagou stood on the sidewalk, staring up at the ridiculously high building with it's sign in big, bold red print designed to look like ribbons. He looked at the card in his hand. Yeah, it was the right address. Now how in the hell would he find her? He couldn't just waltz in. And the last thing he wanted was a restraining order, not that something like that could stop him. Why did he suddenly feel he was confined to the silly humans' laws?

Jade was reading through a paper and walking down the halls of the building with Mr. Lee walking in-stride with her, a hopeful look on his face. She pulled the paper away from her face, a slightly annoyed look donning her lovely features.
       "I dunno Tommy."
"Aw, come on Jade. You've gotta do it sometime. Why not now?" Mr. Lee asked, now cheerful after getting that business about that "hermit" out of the air.
"But I like it here. Besides, after all the tours I finished up and all the photo shoots and dance routines and interviews and studio work...I'd like just a little break," Jade said.
"You'll get a break. But think about all the things you'll experience."
"And all the tabloids waiting to get their focus on me," Jade said sarcastically, stopping before a door.
"Well, you've got plenty of time to think about it," Mr. Lee said as he opened the door for her.
"Thanks Tommy," Jade said and walked inside, closing the door behind her. She tossed the stack of stapled papers on a chair and leaned against the door.
"What a day," she said with a sigh and looked up, her eyes widening.

       "Juunanagou?!"

Juunanagou smirked, sitting on the window sill. He decided to fly to each window in hopes of finding her and had lucked out.
"Hey," was all he said as he slipped into the room. Any other person would've ran for the door and called security, but Jade simply gave him a sly looked and walked into his embrace.
       "So, you found me."
       "Wasn't that hard."
Jade picked up the stack of papers and placed them on the desktop.
"So, what do you want to do?" she turned around to face him, leaning against the desk which was giving him some inappropriate ideas.
"Oh, a lot of things..." he said walking up to her and leaning against her before kissing her.
"Well, I'm not doing anything right now. We could go out if you want," she said. Juunanagou's brow as he pulled away and looked at her, "You're just full of surprises, aren't you?"
       "Mm-hmm."

"...And then he had the nerve to say 'Uh...you've got nice boobs'! The nerve!" Bra exclaimed as she drove Marron and Pan through town.
"Well, what did you expect? He's the star football player with lowest IQ in class," Marron said, "I for one want a guy who looks good and makes good conversation."
Pan sighed, imagining someone she'd like to talk with. Those blue eyes she could get lost in, that smooth, flawless skin, rock hard muscles, soft lavender hair...
"Earth to Pan!" Marron waved her hand in front of Pan's face and she blinked.
       "Hmm? Oh, sorry."
"Daydreaming again, I see. When will I find a guy who likes me for me and not my money or my 'big boobs'?" Bra asked as she turned a corner.
"Who knows? Of course, Pan might not have that problem with your brother," Marron said slyly, causing Pan to gasp.
"Don't think we didn't know, Pan. We see the way you react when he enters the room. You get all hot and bothered," Bra joked.
       "Bra!" Pan yelled.
"It's okay, Pan. We think it's cute that you like him, but when are you gonna go and ask him out?" Marron asked.
       "I don't think so.
"Why not?" Bra and Marron asked simultaneously.
"Because I'm not his type. He wants a girl who's tall and beautiful and...girly," Pan said regretfully. Since childhood, Pan was a tomboy, preferring big loose tops to tight, accenting ones. While Bra and Marron dressed provocatively, attracting the stares of every guy they passed, she would shrink and become invisible to their gaze; only coming up to her to ask her to give a note to one of her friends. She sighed.
"Don't be ridiculous, Pan. Remember Trunks' last girlfriend, Trixie. Trust me, if he would go out with a girl like that, you definitely have chance," Bra said. Oh Pan remembered Trixie all right. The dumb, blonde, bimbo with a big bust and lack of thought. Though she was as clueless as they came, she was incredibly beautiful and knew how to dress. Pan remarked sarcastically, "Oh yeah, that really makes me feel better."
"Hey, Marron, did you hear about your uncle?" Bra asked, eyes fixed on the road.
"No, why?" Marron blinked as Bra tossed her a magazine. On the front cover was a picture of her uncle walking arm-in-arm with Jade!
"No way!" Marron exclaimed and Pan read the headlines. "When did this happen?!"
"Last night. They were seen at a bunch of different clubs and then took off, probably to his place," Bra said.
"I don't believe it. It has to be some look-alike. Uncle Juunanagou barely steps out of his cabin to see us, let alone go to clubs," Marron said.

"Jade! Darling!" a man switched his hips as he hurried up to Jade to kiss her on each cheek, Jade doing likewise.
"It's so wonderful to see you again, my dear," he said warmly, an even bigger smile filled his features when he laid eyes on Juunanagou who eyed him warily, "Ooh, I see you brought a friend."
"Yes, I want to get him dressed up for dinner," Jade said.
"Dinner?" Juunanagou blinked and stared cluelessly at the woman clinging to his arm as if he were her beau. Though, now that he thought about it, weren't they a couple? He had heard some of the news about them being an item. Luckily, none of the reporters got the chance to catch up with them. He didn't feel like killing anyone today.
"...Oh, will do, boo-boo. Come with me cutie and we'll get you dressed in something really nice," the man said and took Juunanagou by the arm, leading him away from Jade who smiled sweetly and waved to him as he was dragged off.

"You must be out of your mind! There's no way I'll submit to such demands!" a middle-aged man with dark brown hair, dressed in a pinstripe suit almost yelled as he sat at a table with a rather muscular looking fellow dressed in a black suit.
"I must insist, Mr. Bakuto. You'll be aiding a good cause, and you'll be saving your neck," he said, a threat evident in his voice. Mr. Bakuto's frown deepened, "This is ridiculous! I will not be bossed around by someone making idle threats! Get this man out of here!"
Four security men came walking into the office, donning black uniforms and large night sticks (no, not those kind you perv!). The muscular man merely smiled slyly and got up, seeing himself out, but stopping halfway.
"Just remember, Mr. Bakuto: we always tie up loose ends, and we never take no for an answer," and with that, the man left the room.

"So, he must be that dreamboat I've been reading about in the newspaper," the tailor said in a feminine, Bronx-style accent while sitting with Jade over tea, "Have you laid him yet?" Jade couldn't help but smirk.
"Oh come on, you can confide in me," the tailor said, eager to learn about the handsome man who was getting fitted as they spoke.
"Yeah, pretty much," Jade said, trying to hide her smile.
"Was he good?" Jade gave a stifled laugh and blushed, "Dan!"
"Well?" Jade paused for a moment, "All right, he was good! Hell, he was great!"
"That good huh?" Dan asked with a smirk.
"I only got a few hours of sleep," Jade bragged before sipping from her tea. "Happy?"
"Very," Dan said with a smirk, "it's a shame he's straight, he's got a nice butt." Jade laughed, "Yeah, he gets mad when I pinch him." Dan chuckled.
"Mr. Shoku!" a woman called from the back, "He's ready!"
"Bring him out then, sweetie!" When Juunanagou stepped out from behind the curtains, he had a shy look on his face and looked down at his expensive shoes. Jade and Dan's jaws dropped. Jade was the first to recover and rush up to him, "Juu-chan..." Juunanagou noticed the look she was giving and smirked, "You like?"
"Very much," Jade said and turned to Dan, "I'll take him--I-I mean the suit." Juunanagou chuckled and headed back to change back into his regular clothes while Dan headed to the register, wiping an imaginary tear from his eye, "I've created another masterpiece."

The day passed quickly and Jade stood with Juunanagou on top of a hill just on the outskirts of the city and connecting with the forest. Juunanagou held her in his arms and she sighed sadly, looking to the forest.
"I can always come by tomorrow," Juunanagou said.
"Oh you'd better, or I'll come after you," Jade said with a hint of mischief in her tone. Juunanagou smirked, "I think I like the sound of that." The two kissed deeply and then turned to the setting sun. Jade looked him in the eyes and smirked, "I hope you have a good time." Juunanagou blinked and she pulled away, heading to her limo.
"Have a good time?" Juunanagou asked as the limo sped away.

"What now?" Juunanagou asked as he opened his door to Yamcha and Tien dressed in suits; Tien with a black bandanna over his head to cover his third eye. Juunanagou blinked and let them in. Yamcha gave one of his goofy, "Hey Juu-kun, just came by to invite you out again."
"I don't know. I don't really feel much in the mood for clubbing," Juunanagou said, leaning against the couch. Yamcha and Tien smiled at each other and Yamcha walked up to the raven-haired android, pulling out the same things he had shown Tien and Juunanagou gave the same reaction he had.
"Oh, I think you want to go."

Acapulco Springs. Yamcha pulled over and killed the engine. When they all stepped out, they took another look at the android's suit: navy blue armani. He looked pretty damn good in armani! As they walked through the area, they realized how it got it's name. Tall palm trees, the beach right next door, and a tropical theme to the decorations with tall buildings stretching skyward. The perfect hotel to check into during a vacation. As they walked through the seemingly endless hallways and pathways, they ran into a horde of reporters and stopped in their tracks.
       "Uh oh," Tien muttered.
"There he is!" one reporter yelled as they all came running towards the trio.
"Hey, isn't that Yamcha?" another called out.
"Run!" Yamcha yelled as the three took off. Luckily, for their speed, they left the reporters choking on their dust while they hid around the corner of another building.
"Seems you're turning into a celebrity, aren't you?" Tien turned to Juunanagou who could only shrug with an innocent grin. The three eventually found their seats at an outdoor cafe. Chairs and tables were set out like that at a fancy restaurant complete with menus and silk tablecloths. A stage was set before them with a mic stand in the center with curtains hiding who and what was behind. Yamcha had told Juunanagou that he purchased tickets to another one of Jade's performances and knew he'd be eager to go after reading the morning paper. Piano music began to play and everyone grew quiet after finding their seats. Eerie sound effects began to play as bass was heard and glittery spotlight fell on a shadowy figure who slipped past the curtains and was now standing inches from the mic stand. Juunanagou's lips curled into a smirk. Jade stood there dressed in a short jean skirt with knee-length beige boots and a black, one-strap shirt with the word "Hottie" etched across her chest in jewels and glitter. On her head was a black suede cowboy hat which was tipped down to shadow her face. She also wore a bunch of silver rings and bangles on each hand and wrist as she clutched the mic, holding it close to her glossed lips and lower her head.

(Brandy - Full Moon)

Boy
I saw you, soon as you came bouncin' through the door
You and your manners just took over the floor
Started doin' your thing
And it made me notice you even more
(The way...)
You turned around and looked at me
You seemed as though
You must have somehow felt me starin' on the low
Somethin' tells me you're
The kind of guy I'd like to get to know

She looked up and winked at Juunanagou who rested his cheek against his hand.

I ain't even gonna front
I ain't even gonna lie
Since you walked up in the club
I been givin' you the eye
We can dance if you want
Get it crackin' if you like
Must be a full moon
Feels like one of those nights

She started walking down the stairs of the stage, holding the cordless mic in her hand and standing in the center of the all the ballroom tables, the spotlight still on her as her attention was completely directed on Juunanagou who smirked, lost in her eyes.

I...
Is this the first time I am seeing you around
Could you be visiting?
Or are you new in town?
Whatever the case
I'm feelin' you right here and right now
The first smile...
And all the love you showin' let's me know that you
Like what you see and wanna get to know me to
This could very well
Be the start of something special
Happy that I met you

I ain't even gonna front
I ain't even gonna lie
Since you walked up in the club
I been givin' you the eye
We can dance if you want
Get it crackin' if you like
Must be a full moon
Feels like one of those nights
(repeat 1x)

Yamcha noticed Jade's focus and looked to Juunanagou, blinking a couple of times as he realized who she was singing to.

I didn't think that I'd
Come here tonight
Meet someone like you start feelin' the way I do
Seems like we've known each other
Most of our lives
After one conversation
This must be right

As she sang, Jade walked closer and closer to their table, pointing directly at Juunanagou, though no one seemed to noticed but the Z trio at the table before her.

I ain't even gonna front
I ain't even gonna lie
Since you walked up in the club
I been givin' you the eye
We can dance if you want
Get it crackin' if you like
Must be a full moon
Feels like one of those nights
(repeat 2x)

Everyone was on their feet and cheering and whistling for Jade, all except for Juunanagou who only sat there and smiled at her. A couple of people in the audience had also noticed who she was focused on and grinned from ear to ear. After everyone took off, Juunanagou stayed to find Jade backstage. Jade smiled and walked up to him, hugging him tight. That song seemed to describe their situation perfectly.
"Surprise," she said subtly. Juunanagou blinked.
"I think we have some explaining to do," Yamcha said as he and Tie came walking out of the shadows and approached the couple.
"I ran into Jade this afternoon at the beach. She wanted to surprise you by giving me these tickets and dragging you over here," Yamcha said. Juunanagou was needless to say, surprised and turned to Jade who could only smile warmly at him.
"You've got a great girl there, Juu-kun. Take care," Yamcha said and he and Tien left.

"So, you wanted to surprise me?" Juunanagou said as he walked with Jade, an arm around her waist as they walked to the hotel parking lot where the limo would be waiting.
       "Mm-hmm, you liked?"
"Very much," Juunanagou said and leaned over to kiss her on the cheek. As they got inside the limo, Juunanagou turned to her, "You do realize that the media will more than likely have this on the front page, first thing tomorrow morning."
"Oh I'm sure they will, but I don't care. You're my boyfriend and I'm happy with you, so who cares what they think? Now, where do you want to go for dinner?" she asked as she snuggled up next to him. Juunanagou happily wrapped his arm around her during their ride out of the parking lot and away from the flashes of cameras from the reporters.
