Chapter 4

“What do you mean the first will be here in three days? The first what? How do you know this?” Bulma
questioned. Vegeta had called all the Saiya-jins to C.C. to explain what he had learned.

“Shut your ever moving mouth woman and I will tell you! I have been having visions lately. They are
images and phrases from my past, and what I guess to be all of ours’ future. The voice is that of Bardock.”

“Bardock! That elder guy we went and saw? We haven’t seen him in what, 12 years? What is doing in
your visions?”

“If I knew that I would probably understand everything.” Vegeta snapped. “But you are right Kakarott we
haven’t seen the old man since we were 15. I am not sure what is coming, or even if the threat is real, but it
is better to be prepared than taken as fools. We will fight what-ever the “first” is, and I know we will win.”

“Oh, K-chan, I hope we are capable.”

“It is alright Chi-Chi. I wish you didn’t have to be part of this. Vegeta is there any way the gir…”

“No, Bardock said it would take all of us, including the females to win. We will all begin training
immediately. That is all.” As everyone got up to leave Vegeta put a hand on Bulma’s arm, a signal for her
to stay back. “About last night, I uh…”

“You don’t have to say anything Vegeta. I never really expected you to.” She flashed him a brilliant, white
smile and with those words turned and walked away.

Vegeta watched her in stunned silence. How was it that she could understand him so well when they
weren’t even bonded? He knew right then there was something extraordinary about the blue-haired
saiya-jin.

In three days time Vegeta, Bulma, Chi-Chi, Kakarott, Gohan, and Trunks stood in an open clearing that
Vegeta led them to.

“For some reason, I know this is where we should be.”

To everyone’s amazement a small bald warrior named Krillen, a three-eyed man called Tien, and a
scar-faced human known as Yamcha appeared.

“I didn’t think you guys would come! That is great, we might need the help.” Kakarott exclaimed.
“Vegeta, these are the guys that have been defending Chikyuu, well before we got here anyway.”

“Only fight if you deem it necessary, there is no need for you three to get killed.”

“No offense, Vegeta, but Chikyuu is our home planet, and we have the right to defend it from any
invader.” Tien replied.

At that moment a large pod came hurtling through the sky. It landed with a solid “THUD” ½ a mile from
where the warriors stood. The door slowly opened and four figures could be seen through the haze.

As the smoke cleared Chi-Chi let out an audible gasp, it was Olla! She would never forget that face as
long as she lived. He was quite handsome, long white hair that skimmed his shoulders, tan skin with clear
cut bone structure. Then there were his eyes. They were gray, a dull, lifeless gray. They were proof the
man had no soul. He did not look incredibly powerful, but looks were often deceiving. His true power lay,
not in ki blasts or brute strength, but in mind control and sorcery. Chi-Chi called out his name adding the
word traitor to the end. Olla looked up a small smirk playing on his lips.

“So my dear saiya-jin sisters, we meet again. How long has it been? Only a year? You both look much
older than before, maybe it is the weight of your dead parents on your shoulders.” He began to laugh as he
watched Chi-Chi lunge forward. “So I struck a nerve there Chi. You always were their favorite. No
offense “little Blue” I know someone that is very interested in making you a personal favorite.” Bulma
flinched at the sound of her family nick-name rolling off his sadistic tongue. “It does not matter how many
strong boys you have here to protect you, my boss ALWAYS gets what he wants.”

“It looks like that is all about to change,” was the only response from Vegeta before he flew head first into
Olla’s stomach. So it had begun.

The three lackeys began attacking Vegeta from all sides, beating and kicking while Olla regained his
breath. All it took was a moment before the others rushed to Vegeta’s aid. Olla used the distraction to tap
into Gohan’s mind. With his defenses down the young saiya-jin was totally vulnerable to a mind attack. He
fell to the ground clutching his head, and when he arose turned his attack to Kakarott. Trunks noticed what
Olla had done and rushed at him, but this time the crafty wizard was prepared. A strong, ki dampening
force field held Trunks in place. The saiya-jin discovered too late that the more you struggle the more
energy you loose. He fell to the ground unconscious. By this time the remaining warriors had pulled Olla’s
men off Vegeta. The Chykuian fighters found themselves in combat with three incredible ki powers. These
aliens has the power to absorb ki energy. This meant the warriors had to revert to hand-to-hand combat.
They easily disposed of the weak lackeys using the moves there old master‘s had taught them, long before
they could fully manipulate ki. Olla turned and discovered his men broken and bloody, and quickly used a
powerful spell to knock out all three humans. He forced them into comatose sleep, and then revived his
men. The evil beings then proceeded to kick, stomp, and maul the Chikyuu defenders. Chi-Chi and Bulma
had been standing back, watching Olla’s actions. The two women watched in desperation as Gohan and
Kakarott beat each other to near death. Chi-Chi lost all control when Kakarott hit the ground and
remained there unmoving. She landed several blows to Olla before he had Gohan turn on her. Vegeta
crouched in his fighting stance calling for Olla to fight as a real man.

“I am no fool oh mighty Prince,” he spoke with sarcasm and hatred, “I know you would beat me in a ki
battle, and I would never rush into something as foolish as physical combat with you. However, my friends
here seem to think they can beat you. I am only interested in Bulma. The rest of you are nothing.”

Bulma saw Gohan and Chi-Chi knock each other out cold, and heard Olla say her name. She watched in
horror as he cast a spell upon the saiya-jin prince, freezing him in place. She ran to block the borage of
blasts coming from the enemies hands aimed at Vegeta. Olla flicked her into a wall with the wave of his
hand.

“I hate to do that to something as beautiful as you, but you must not interfere with his death. Not that you
could do anything. You are weak, you did nothing for your friends, even your sister, who has less ki than
you tried to fight. No you might have stood a chance. We would have traded them for you, aren’t you
selfish. You did nothing for your parents. You knew I was lying, but did you try to warn them? No. You
are a failure, and Freiza will crush what little spirit you have left, when I am finished with you.” By this time
he had used a spell to hold her in the air, inches from his face.

All the images of her parents and Olla talking together flooded her mind, he was right she had known. She
realized she always knew people’s real purposes. Ever since she was small she had known when someone
was lying or cheating. She began to cry, tears so long unshed for her parents, and now for her sister and
friends. She felt a slap across her face, and a hand rising up her thigh. NO! It would not happen again! She
snapped. Her hair turned navy and grew past her knees. Her azure eyes turned silver and began to glow.
In one swift movement Bulma was on her feet, free of Olla’s control. She moved so swiftly he couldn’t see
her, she brought her knee up to his stomach and then threw him to the ground. Olla looked up at her, a
sick look coming across his bleeding face. So, the myths are true. She was the Mystic Saiya-jin, and she
would kill him. He knew that now. In her new state Bulma, too, could control minds, and she forced her
way into Olla’s head. From there she saw images of her parents death. He had used his mind control on
her father, but had broken it after he killed Onya because he knew Carrion would want revenge. He had
actually planned to lure the girls away with him, but at the last moment decided it was to risky. Besides, he
knew Freiza would always be able to find them. Bulma forced herself to push past the grotesque deaths of
her parents, and focused on making him retract the spells from her friends and wake them all.

Vegeta opened his eyes and saw a navy headed woman pounding Olla into the ground. He sat upright and
gasped, it was Bulma! She, she was the Mystic! She began to glow and took Olla and his three henchmen
into the air. Olla looked at her and began begging for her forgiveness. She turned her silver eyes on him
and they began to glow brighter. “No mercy shall be shown for those who do not deserve it.” Her voice
was as cool as ice, “I can tell you do not mean it Olla. You can not lie to me, I am the Mystic. I know.”

At these words Olla paled, he knew now he had nothing to loose so he began to talk about Freiza, “You
may have beaten me, but Freiza will eat you all alive. None of you stand a chance against him! He will
come for Bulma when he discovers I have failed, and then there will be no place in the universe safe from
his wrath! By the way Prince Vegeta, your father and his planet are going to be dead in one week. Freiza
has grown tired of you monkeys parading around. He will destroy you all, and claim the Mystic as his
trophy! You wait and see.”

“The Mystic is no one’s trophy.” After uttering these words a bright silver light began radiating from her
eyes and body. The blinding light engulfed all four men in the air, and with one final heart-wrenching cry of
retribution they were no more. Bulma fell from the sky, her hair and eyes back to their natural color. Her
body was bleeding and bruised from the power she had released. The warriors looked to where Olla and
the others had been in the sky, all that remained was a few ashes falling like rain.

Kakarott stood in shock, his only words, “She completely disintegrated them. I can’t believe it.”

Chi-Chi stumbled to her fallen sister, trying to help her up. All the warriors were in bad shape, but Bulma
had used almost all her life energy in that last blast. She was not yet able to control the power within her
soul. She fell into unconsciousness. When she finally awoke, she was in her bed at C.C. surrounded by her
friends and family.

“What happened, how did we all get back?”

“Krillen called a friend of his named Yajorobi, and he brought us these great things called senzue beans.
When you eat them they heal all your wounds, including bones, and scrapes, and”

“I think that is enough information K-chan. I think maybe we should let my little sis rest. She deserves it.”

“He he I guess you are right Chi. Rest Bulma, we will come back tomorrow.”

“Okay, bye guys.”

As all her friends exited the room, one figure remained behind. Without opening her eyes Bulma knew it
was Vegeta. She called for him to come sit by her, he complied. He sat and watched her fight off sleep,
until weariness won, and she drifted into a peaceful slumber. He never left her side.

Vegeta contacted his father the next day, and tried to explain all they had been through. King Vegeta
refused to believe his son.

“You foolish boy, there is no way Freiza would ever attack a whole planet of Saiya-jins. He knows a
battle would be useless. We would crush him! I will not listen to another word.”

“Please Father. I am not a boy I am 27 years old, and I am NOT foolish. Freiza will destroy you all if you
do not leave Vegeta-sei!”

“Goodbye Brat.”

That was the last time Vegeta ever spoke to the King of the Saiya-jins.
