Gero was the last to arrive in the main room. He dumped a still pale and trembling Bulma quite unceremoniously onto the floor. “Now my dear young people, I am sure you have several questions running through your heads. I will give you a brief overview. We are still on Earth, but only for a few more moments.” As if on cue Juuana-gou and Juuhachi--gou left for the control room. “Your families have been eliminated. We are on my personal ship, but will be docking with a larger vessel, The Pinra, in a few hours. When we reach the Pinra we will load then head towards Marin. That is all. Now say goodbye to your former home.”

The teenagers had failed to notice the aircraft’s takeoff. Earth was a beautiful blue orb below them. “Wow it’s amazing,:” Radditz murmured. Then from nowhere, or so it seemed, a red beam of light flew towards the Earth and the planet was no more. Bulma lost the meager contents of her stomach, Radditz merely grunted in disgust, Chi-Chi sobbed, and Goku became enraged.

“Why did you do that ! You have us, isn’t that enough? Aren’t we what you wanted?”

“Yes, well I can’t very well have anyone wondering what happened to you and your families. Especially Miss Briefs. C.C. was an important commodity to the planet, without it Earth probably would have died on its own. I did evolution a favor.” He smiled then, an odd look overtaking his eyes, “Besides, those close-minded people would never accept the four of you for what you really are.” With that said the mad scientist left the room.

Bulma, who had finally gained control of her body, climbed to her feet and asked the question that was on all their minds, “What did he mean, what we really are?” Silent confusion was the only answer and it was written on every face.

Radditz pulled Bulma o him, “B-Chan, it will be alright. As long as we are all together. We will find a way out of this.”

The weary blue-eyed girl buried her head in his chest and whispered, “I hope you are right.”

Goku had taken Chi-Chi into his embrace. She had managed to regain control of her emotions and now sat staring at nothing particular, asking why over and over again.

17 and 16 entered the room carrying food and water. “Here,” 17 said, “Eat, you need to keep up your strength.” The kids grabbed the food offered, never once questioning the sudden change in demeanor. Moments after their last bites all four captives were asleep. “perfect. Those fools didn’t even bother to check for any kind of suppressant?” 17 laughed. “I find it hard to believe they are Chikla-jin.”

“No Juuana-gou, only two of them are, the other two are saiya-jin. Tell the doctor the job was completed. They will be out till we reach The Pinra. I will place the boys in lab Z and the girls in lab B.”

17 left to inform Gero while 16 picked up the captives, two under each arm, and carried them to their afore mentioned labs.

Chronos paced back and forth, “I must figure out what Fate id up to before it is to late.”

Chi-Chi was the first to wake. “Where am I?” She shook her head in hopes of clearing her foggy mind. “I feel like I took a tranquilizer or something.”

“You did. It is easier for me if you all sleep through he trip to the docking bay.” Gero replied. He then proceeded to wake Bulma, “Miss Briefs, I believe Miss Mau might like some company, and we are almost to the docking bay.” The doctor exited the lab only to return a few minutes later with both Radditz and Goku on his heels. The two ran to their girlfriends side, checking for bruises or any other mark.

Bulma noticed one odd feature about both Goku and Radditz. A long, thin piece of brown wrapped around their waists. “Um…Rad baby, your tail, I think it’s back.”

Radditz looked down in surprise, “Man, Goku yours is too! We got these things cut off years ago. How did they get here?”

“I can answer that. While you were in, ahem…reinforced sleep, you were placed in a rejuvenation tank. The process must have caused your molecular structure to recognize the missing appendage, thereby stimulating re-growth.” By this time only Bulma and Radditz were listening.

“Doctor Gero, we will be at Alpha-Pex docking bay in five minutes.”

Thank you 17. 18 I would like you to take the two young ladies to a room where they can change. 16, you handle these two. I will accompany 17 to The Pinra. Do NOT leave this vessel until I call for you.”

The slim blond, grabbed the girls and roughly by the arms and pulled them to a small room. She rummaged through a drawer and pulled out two outfits. The one given to Bulma had black leggings and a baby-blue oversized tunic. Chi-Chi’s was similar, but violet in tone. “Hm, not my idea of flattering. “ Bulma said teasingly to Chi-Chi.

“That would be the last of my worries if I were in your shoes.” 18 replied.

Bulma tilted her head to the side and questioned, “What do you mean by that? What are you guys keeping from us?” The beautiful android did not reply, she simply shrugged and walked away, leaving Chi-Chi and Bulma to find their own way back to the main room.

Radditz and Goku were waiting for the girls in the main room. They too were clothed in leggings and tunics. Goku in bright orange and Radditz in dark red. In the room sat a long table with four chairs. The captives were placed in the chairs then shackled to the table by their ankles. Bulma and Chi-Chi sat facing Goku and Radditz. A noise was heard from the control room, 18 left to see what it was.

“Did that sound like an intercom to anyone else?” Bulma quietly questioned.

Radditz nodded his head in agreement, “It was too fuzzy to make out the words though.”

A few seconds later Juuhachi rushed back in and said something in Juuroku-gou’s ear. He simply nodded and left the room.

“I wonder what that was all about?” Chi-Chi said.

“Something is up and I’ve got a feeling it has everything to do with us.” Goku responded.

Time passed slowly for the prisoners, Goku had tried a few times to break from the shackles that held him, but found it useless. They sat chained to the table for what, in reality was ½ hour, but felt like days. Then just as they thought they would burst from the tedium of the situation, Gero, followed closely by 16, 17, and two strangers, burst into the main room. Gero took a look back at the visitors and grinned. He then pointed at Radditz and Goku and said, “Those two are saiya-jin. They crash landed on Earth 18 years ago. I have been following their movements since that time. They are twins, long hair is weak but smart, the other is built like a rock. The girls are Chikla-jin. The blue is a genius, dark-eyed is a warrioress. I think the girls went away for protection, the boys to purge. I don’t actually know much about their birth parents. I guess that is all I can tell you, so shall we get down to business?”

Stranger one answered Gero, “Un shackle them, then we will see.” He was horribly ugly, brown whelps covered his scaly green skin. The other stranger was equally repulsive, he had no whelps but his skin seemed to ooze and he smelt of rotting fish.

As the shackles were taken from her legs by the Doctor, Bulma couldn’t repress a shudder. Inside her head her mind was screaming, “What kind of business could they want with us, and what is Chikla-jin? I’m an Earthling, aren’t I?”

Similar thoughts were coursing through Chi-Chi’s mind, “Chikla-jin. What does that mean?”

After all four were shackle-free they were told to line up in front of Gero and his visitors. All four remained standing beside the table.

“They are very strong willed I see. That will mean for a ‘training period’ before they are put to work.” The second stranger stated.

Gero waved 17 and 18 over to him, “Take care of this. I don’t care if you have to pick them up and move them.” That was exactly what had to be done. Finally Bulma, Chi-Chi, Radditz, and Goku were lined up before the three men. “Now Peope, Quintar. Take your pick.”

The teenagers’ eyes widened in terror, they were going to be split up and sent away with these two freaks of nature! Bulma and Chi-Chi began silent prayers to Kami or anyone listening that the men would just go away.

“Bulma, Chi-Chi, your prayers do not fall on deaf ears, but I can not interfere for the sake of Fate. I am sorry my children.” Kami whispered from above.

Even higher, upon her silver throne again, sat Fate. She knew that the next few moments would help save her, but almost break her saviors. “I will channel some peace into their souls.” Fate focused and began to glow, a silver-purple aura overtaking her body. Once again she murmured, “Live my children and renew your love.”

Bulma and Chi-Chi felt a soothing wind blow across their minds. Goku and Radditz felt the calm sent from above as well. The two known as Peope and Quintar noticed the abrupt change in behavior, and seized the moment to make their decisions. All four teenagers were snapped from their almost reverent state when Peope said, “I want these two,” pointing at Goku and Bulma.

“Excellent choice. I will take the others.” Quintar responded.

“What do you mean they will take us? I thought we were headed to Marin?!” Bulma shouted.

“There was a change in plans. Marin no longer exists. These two men were considerate enough to inform me of that. The I decided I no longer had any use for you.” Gero said, an even icy tone to his voice.

“But we do,” the burly Peope responded.

“Ah yes, that reminds me. I placed ki dampeners in all but the blue one. They will be no threat.”

“Doctor Gero, it was wonderful doing business with you, but I am afraid I must take my leave. “Peope said.

16 moved towards Goku, while Peope advanced towards Bulma. Goku resisted and ran towards Chi-Chi. The obsidian eyed beauty kissed him full on the lips before being knocked away by Juuroku-gou. The huge android then placed shackles around Son Goku’s wrists and ankles. He then did the same to the winded Chi-Chi. 16 then picked her up and placed her at Quintar’s feet. Quintar pulled her waist-length black hair, leveling her gaze to his. “You belong to me now, and that saiya-jin you just kissed does not. Learn to deal with it.” He slapped her across the face, but the pretty fighter never uttered a sound. She just turned to watch as Goku was taken out of the door by android 16.

Bulma was kicking and screaming for Radditz. The saiya-jin scientist plowed into the scaly man and knocked him to the floor. That one burst if strength caused his ki dampener to kick into overdrive and drain almost all of the energy from his body. Radditz collapsed on top of Bulma. She was crying and hugging him to her, when suddenly he was gone. She too was wrenched from the floor and shackled. Radditz was being beaten by Quintar for his “disobedience.” Bulma made her whole body go limp and was literally drug from Gero’s ship.

By the time they reached Peope’s ship, The Manama, Bulma’s tears had dried. She and Goku walked side by side in pitiful silence. As they boarded both captives took one last look at Gero’s ship and then entered, head’s hung low.

Once Peope had his new property on board he ordered for take-off. He called for a servant to take them to bath and then be brought back before him. One hour later Bulma and Goku, showered and dressed in tunics once again, entered the main room of The Manama. Peope circled around them, his eyes roaming appreciatively over Bulma’s body. He snaked one whelp infested arm around Bulma’s slim waist. “Now deary a beauty such as yourself will be quite a treasure on Slepdoc. You will make an excellent scientist I am sure, but maybe you will be an even better house whore. I will have to try you out tonight to know for sure.”

Bulma’s pride got the better of her and she shouted in the Slepdoc-jin’s ear, “You disgusting toad crossbreed! What in the nine layers of hell makes you think I will serve or screw you!” She then proceeded to spit on his face.

Peope reared his fist back to strike her, but found Goku hovering protectively over her. “You will not touch her you maggot,” the dark-haired boy growled deep in the back of his throat.

“Well saiya-jin, your behavior caught me off guard. I will grant you that, but it will not happen again.” Peope the elbowed Goku in the stomach and then brought his head down to his knee. Goku struggled back to his feet, blood pouring from his face. Bulma had backed away from the scene and was now sobbing against the wall. Goku and Peope sent punches back and forth, each hit growing more desperate, more violent. Had Goku been without the ki-damping chip Gero placed at the base of his neck, Peope never would have stood a chance. Things were not in Goku’s favor, however, and soon the end arrived. Son Goku sunk to the floor in defeat. “I’m so sorry Bulma. I tried,” he murmured, turning his head to look at her.

The blue-haired beauty ran to his side, “Goku, look at me! Stay awake, please. For me! I need you to…”

Her sentence was cut off as Peope roughly wrenched her away from the fallen warrior’s side. “Now wench, where were we?” the revolting Slepdoc-jin licked his lips in anticipation.

Bulma then did the only thing she could think of, she kneed him directly in the groin. He flung her across the room like a rag doll, then sunk to his knees moaning in pain. At that moment a member of Peope’s crew entered the room. Surveying the scene before him he decided to do one thing that might tilt the balance of good and evil in his favor. He loaded the two battered, but conscious, teenagers into a travel pod, and set them free. “GO young ones, live. Kami, may you see my deed and let it weigh in my favor.” The servant then patiently awaited the wrath of his master.

Bulma dug through the contents of the pod bathroom. She found an old first-aid kit and walked back to the control room where Goku sat. She patched both his and her injuries. Goku turned and looked at her and said, “You are all I have left. I can’t loose you.”

“And you are all I have.”

Goku reached up and touched her cheek. “We will make it. I know we will.” they sat there for a moment, unmoving, staring deep into each other’s eyes.

Bulma finally broke the spell being weaved by whispering, “We need to get some sleep. The pod was pre-programmed for its destination.”

“Good idea. Have you already been all over the pod?”

“Yeah, there is a very small bathroom, an even smaller bed, and some pre-packaged food. Um…Goku do you think that maybe you and I could, oh I don’t know, um…share the bed tonight?” Bulma stuttered out, a pretty pink shade staining her cheeks. “It’s just a suggestion. I’ve been having these crazy dreams lately. It will be nice to know someone is there beside me, especially know that Rad is gone.” She finished quietly, a small trail running the course of her face from her newly shed tears.

“Yeah. I think it is a great idea, B. Lets go.” The dark-haired saiya-jin carried her to the bed, “Hey you weren’t kidding. This thing is tiny!” This earned him a giggle from the gorgeous blue-haired girl in his arms. The two laid down side-by-side, arms wrapped around each other for both warmth and comfort.

“Promise me something Goku, you won’t let go of me tonight. Please promise me.”

“I promise with all my heart Bulma, I’ll never let go.”

The two drifted off to sleep, and true to his word, Goku never let go of her frail form.
