OBSERVE 2:

/ Ladies and Gentlemen, we have entered a new era of modern science
and technology. An era where things once thought impossible are now
being brought to fruition. Once living in a world filled with
questions without answers, we now live in a world where anything is
possible. Yes, my friends. We are in a new age and with the help of
our amazing scientists and doctors, we at the Capsule Corporation are
finding better and more efficient products that can help in creating
a world with infinite possibilities. /

The screen blackened abruptly and the room was filled with the eerie
stillness again.

"Did you not like the speech, sir?"

Silence.

"We tried to project the main ideas in the commercial, so that your
points could get across…"

A slim hand was raised to silence the blubbering man. "I never did
say that the commercial was a total loss now, did I, Doctor?"

"Well…no…"

"Good. Then it is settled. We will run these for about a month. Let
the people know that we are on their side this time."

"As you wish, Mr. Briefs. Would you like to go down to the lab now?"

The young man placed lean fingers beneath his chin in thought before
spinning around in his swivel leather chair to face the other. "Hai,
I think I will pay them a visit now. Do lead the way, Doctor."

~*~*~*~*~

He opened up his eyes to stare blankly at the white ceiling above
him. For how long had he been knocked unconscious this time? But then
again, time had become non-existent for him, ever since…

~ Blast it! I curse the day I ever met you Trunks. To be so gullible…
what an excuse… ~

The memories came in small bunches now. Maybe he would finally lose
his memory at the rate these doctors were going. He scratched at an
itch on his arm lazily, his tail hanging limply from the side of the
bed as he shifted restlessly beneath the flimsy excuse of a blanket.
He was getting cold again.

~ Must have lowered the temperature to freezing by now. ~

He wondered if Kakkarrot was okay.

The other Saiyan had suffered worse than he and the prince could
barely control the dull fury that filled his being as the sudden
image of that happy, goofy face convincing him to go along with the
plan, had now become only a shadow of its former self.

Only this time…they had both been used in the worst way possible.

~ How could you do this to us…Trunks… ~

As Saiyans, they had lived…outlived the others. All except for Gohan,
Kakkarrot's oldest son and the Namek, Piccolo, everyone else had been
a victim to that age-old disease…death. Goten and Trunks, his own
real son, had both died in a plane explosion, something that had
caused both he and Kakkarrot a pain that had been unfathomable. Both
young men had been coming back from a trip to some exotic island,
since they had officially become a couple, and had decided to pay
their fathers a visit. Unfortunately, Fate had had other plans.

As a result of the untimely events, he and Kakkarrot had moved in
together, become partners and companions to one another, enjoyed each
other's company as best they could…that was until he came back.

He listened to the dull hum of the air-conditioners. It was a
peaceful sound…almost.

Trunks…the future one… had returned, looking older and wiser and even
more handsome. He had come with all smiles. Had supped with them and
paid his respects to the dearly departed, telling them of his own
mother's death from his timeline and how lonely he was and…

~ All a trick…to lure us in… ~

Perhaps it was due to the fact that he had lost his own _real_ son or
else he wouldn't have come. But Kakkarrot had begged and pleaded. Had
said that Trunks really did seem lonely. Had reasoned and talked him
into it, and like a lovesick puppy, ready to do anything for the
younger Saiyan, basically to keep him from whining too much, he had
finally agreed and soon enough plans had been made to send them into
Trunks's timeline.

Kakkarrot's son and his partner had respectfully declined the offer.

~ Maybe they knew something that we didn't. ~

Whichever it was, he had been suckered in and they had come. Only to
be betrayed.

He sighed and got off the bed, sitting and stretching, yawning and
licking his dry lips. He curled and uncurled his tail in its daily
exercise and jumping lithely off the bed, he padded around the room
in circles. He had to at least get that part of his body moving. And
he was getting thirsty too.

"Could I have some water?!" He barked coldly. In mere seconds, a
small compartment was opened from one of the sidewalls and a glass of
the cool, clear liquid popped out. He knew it was drugged, just as
everything they had ever given to him in here was, but he was thirsty
and he wasn't dead yet.

~ Thank Kami for small mercies. ~

He drank thirstily and proceeded to smash the glass against the wall,
watching in satisfaction as the tiny broken pieces fell to the white
floor.

He could feel them. They were here already.

He walked over the broken shards of glass, ignoring the dull pain as
they cut his feet. Tiny drops of blood disturbed the even white, the
sharp contrast of red against it almost blinding. He stopped within
inches of the clear glass and peered through it. He couldn't see
them, but they could see him and baring his canines, he growled and
raised his hands upwards before sending his fist into it. He ignored
the sharp jolts of electricity that flared through his body as he
continued to pound against the thick shield.

Let them be afraid. Let them be very afraid.

~*~*~*~*~

"Do we increase the level of shock, Doctor?"

"Fascinating…he is clearly in pain, but he does not show
it….interesting. Increase it…"

The men watched the irate subject continue to hit the glass. He was
beginning to bleed from the damage he was causing to his knuckles and
fingers, but yet he never stopped.

"Such strength. Even after all this time, he still refuses to give
in. Increase the level!"

"But Doctor…if we do that, we might end up killing him."

"Are you disobeying my orders?"

"No, Doctor…"

"Then do it!"

"That will be enough for today, Doctor Sullivan."

The scientists spun around in attention as the young CEO walked into
the room.

"Mr. Briefs…what are you doing here?"

His question was ignored as the purple-haired man walked up to the
partition, blazing blue eyes softening a bit as he noticed the
furious Saiyan below him. "Cut off the electric shock."

He watched the prince fall to his knees, trying to catch his breath
in harsh gasps. "I would like to speak to him…now. Open up the
chamber."

"But…but…Mr. Briefs…he is a very dangerous specimen."

"Hai…I am aware of that. But you must also remember that he is
considerably weakened as well. At the moment, I can safely say that I
am stronger than he is. Open the doors."

With skeptical looks, they lowered the businessman down to the lower
sections of the underground lab and opened up the metal doors that
led into the small room. Through the thick glass, they gathered
around to watch the upcoming events with wary but curious eyes.

~*~*~*~*~

He didn't even bother to look up as the sound of crunching glass
filled the silence. He held his bleeding knuckles, body still
trembling with aftershocks and pain. "What do you want now?" He asked
coldly.

He was surprised to find the younger man stoop to his haunches beside
him and tilt his chin up. Deepest onyx and brightest blue clashed for
several seconds, as lean fingers brushed against the sweaty forehead
in almost feather-like touches. "Why do you go through so much pain,
father?"

"I am not your father." Came the low growl.

Trunks sighed and sat down beside him, not before brushing away some
of the glass to the side. It was a bit odd to see the well-dressed
young man sit Indian-style, almost making himself at home in the tiny
prison. "How can I convince you that I am only doing this for the
benefit of science?"

"Fuck you and your science. Why don't you kill us already?"

Purple brows furrowed in irritation. "No…I will not do that. I need
you both for a little while longer. We are almost there…"

"Congratu-fucking-lations, Trunks."

"We are developing a new drug that can prolong the life of many
humans here on Earth and studying you and getting your samples was
the only way to do that. How many times do I have to keep telling you
this?"

"You lied to us."

"So, I didn't tell you everything…"

"You said that we were coming here to see how far you had progressed
in your world! You told Kakkarrot that you were only doing this as a
way to thank us for saving your life all those years ago! And yet you
fucking betray us!!"

The purple-haired boy lowered his head and sighed loudly. "You just
don't get it do you?"

"Just don't get what?!" He was getting angrier by the minute. "You
had this all planned out from the beginning!! You had been developing
and inventing things to suppress our ki and drain up our energy all
that time!! You knew that we could have escaped anytime we wanted to,
but you had everything mapped out for us, right from day one, didn't
you?!"

"Seems like you have everything all figured out, don't you…father?"

"Stop calling me that!!"

Trunks lowered his lashes and smiled seductively, before reaching
down for the bleeding knuckles. He raised them to his lips and licked
away the salty fluid in slow strokes, smirking as he watched the
conflicting emotions dance across the handsome face of the saiyan
prince. Leaning forward, Trunks whispered huskily against a well-
shaped ear.

"Hai, you are not my real father. But you have served your purpose
well, Vegeta. I think…I think I just might let you go when this is
all over…"

"You bastard…"

Trunks chuckled and got to his feet, blue eyes dancing with barely
suppressed mirth. "I love you too, dearest father and now…to do
something that I have always longed to do. And you…Vegeta will get to
watch everything."

Raising his voice louder, Trunks yelled. "Open up the doors and
please prepare subject two for my visit."

He smirked at the growl from Vegeta, laughing as the prince tried to
make a mad dash at him. In an almost lazy movement, Trunks pushed him
back to the floor and raised an eyebrow. "I told you, you are no
match for me now, Vegeta. So, why bother? As I said, sit back and
enjoy the show…as I take my pleasure with your…mate."

"Don't you dare touch him! You hear me! Don't you fucking lay a hand
on him!!"

His only reply was the cold laughter that seemed to fill and echo all
around his small prison and placing his hands against his head, the
wronged prince could do no more than bellow his rage for the world to
hear.
