Chapter 3

Waking up the next morning began the same as the previous morning.
Goku snuggled down into his blankets, letting all conscious thought
pass him by as his body slowly began to wake up.

The first thing to actually penetrate his mind was a small, high-
pitched purring, soon followed by the realisation that he was
cuddling something warm. Curiosity getting the best of him, he opened
his eyes, deliberately forcing himself to think.

Looking down, he saw the miniature version of himself curled up in
the bed against him, eyes closed as he snoozed against Goku's chest.
A glance towards the side of the bed showed the back of his elder
son's head, humming quietly under his breath every now and then as he
paged through a book.

Being careful not to wake Goten, Goku reached out his arm and tapped
his son on the back of the shoulder. With a small start, Gohan
turned, smiling and relaxing when he saw his father's face.

"Morning, Gohan…" Goku whispered.

"Morning, dad! Goten and me decided on a morning visit but you were
still sleeping. We didn't want to wake you in case it made you sick
again…"

"And I thank you for that…" Goku grinned for a moment, smile fading
as he realised his son's might want an explanation as to why he had
left the previous night.

"Gohan, about last night..."

"Dad, before you say anything, we know why you're here. And we know
about Vegeta, and the pregnancy, and everything really…" Gohan
faltered off, mentally beating away more images of his father and
Vegeta together.

"You…" Goku's eyes widened, his mouth opening and closing a few times
as he fumbled for something to say.

"I already knew about what happened with Vegeta, when me and The
Supreme Kai went into Babadi's spaceship, his crystal ball was
showing images of you two, when, well…you know…"
Goku stared at his son for a moment, a pink flush flooding into his
cheeks as he realised that his eldest son has SEEN what he and Vegeta
had done.

"I…"

"You don't have to explain, dad. Truth be told, I don't really want
to know. But as far as the baby goes, Goten's really excited about
having a little brother or sister, and I don't mind either. I don't
like that you cheated on mum, but I don't like that she insisted that
you get rid of it either…" Gohan stopped, letting his ramble sink
into his father's brain.

With a smile, Goku's head flopped back down on the pillow.

"Thanks, Gohan…"

"No problem, Dad. Hey, move over a bit!" Kicking his shoes off, Gohan
dived onto the bed and under the covers, joining his father and still
sleeping brother in the warmth of the bed.

Goku strolled down the halls in Capsule Corp, his feet leading the
way to whichever destination he came to first. Both his sons had
eventually disappeared, a blushing Gohan rushing off to meet Videl,
while Goten had raced off at the first sign of Trunks.

Pausing, he sniffed at the air, nose picking up the scent of a
certain Saiyajin Prince. Following the musky smell, he finally found
a sweaty Vegeta raiding the fridge in the family kitchen. Staring at
the form in front of him, Goku's eyes glazed over as his mind
drifted, for once paying no attention to the abundance of food in
front of him.

"Kakarrot?"

Goku eyes slipped back into focus, the image of Vegeta in front of
him changing from a shapeless blur into the serious face of the only
other full-blooded Saiyajin alive.

"Ah.. um.. Morning Vegeta!" Goku replied, waiting for his mind to
kickstart.

Raising an eyebrow, Vegeta stared at him for a moment before going
back to his meal.

Standing in the doorway for a few moments, Goku's mind finally
remembered the talk vegeta had mentioned.

"Vegeta?"

"Hm?"

"Can you tell me about Saiyajin pregnancies now? I mean, where DOES
the baby come out?"

A hint of amusement flickered through Vegeta's eyes as he watched
Goku seat himself down, ready to fire questions.

"Let me finish this, Kakarrot. then I'll tell you."

"Okay."

Both men sat in silence, Vegeta neatly eating his meal while Goku
pondered giving birth. He'd seen Chichi give birth to Gohan, which in
itself had seemed excrutiatingly painful. Shuddering, he recalled all
the threats she had placed upon his genitals while in labour.

Finishing his meal, Vegeta dumped his plates in the sink and motioned
for Goku to stand up. Moving from his seat, the taller man stood
tensly as the saiyajin no ouji approached him.

"While you don't have the same anatomy as a female for giving birth.
you do have a type of... pouch. Untie your belt a moment," Vegeta
said, crossing his arms and waiting for Goku to follow his orders.

Untying his belt, he held the strip of blue material in his hand as
he waited for Vegeta to continue. Eyes widened when deceptivly gentle
hands tugged his gi pants down his hips, edging the hem of his boxers
a little lower seconds later.

A startled noise from the doorway shocked both men out of their
silence. Two dark pairs of eyes widened as they focused on Bulma, who
in turn was staring at her friend and live-in ex lover.

"Um..I'll just come back later..."

Watching as she left, Goku's face flushed red as he realised what she
had thought.

"Uh..Vegeta..."

"Ignore her, Kakarrot. I'll explain later," Vegeta growled, trying
not to show any of his own embarrasment. "What I was trying to show
you is this."

He pointed at Goku's stomach, waiting for the taller man to react.

"What? I can't see anything..."

"This," this time, Vegeta let his finger come into contact with
Goku's stomach, the tip tracing over a fine white line.

"That? I never really saw that before..." Goku mumbled, staring at
the small mark.

"It's probably more visible now since you're..." He
faltered. "Pregnant."

"Yeah..." Goku stared at his stomach for a few more moments before
pulling his gi pants back up. Pausing, he took a deep breath and
braced himself for a possible reply to his next question.

"Vegeta? I don't mean to sound awful about this, but you're being
really understanding about this..."

Vegeta narrowed his eyes.

"I don't mean that in a bad way!" Goku brought his hands up. "I just
imagined you being angry, or just flat out ignoring me..."

Vegeta raised a brow.

"For someone who seems to have had so much faith in me, you're
suddenly very insecure. I'm not about to throw my own child out of
the door," he smirked. "Even if it is inside a third class baka."

Goku paused, then laughed.

"Anything else I should know about pregnancy, Vegeta?"

Vegeta paused, looking thoughtful for a moment.

"Stay the hell away from me, when the moodswings start."

Goku grinned.

"Since when did you develop a sense of humour, Vegeta?"

"Since I realised that I would be living with a pregnant you. I don't
want to incur any hormone driven wrath, no matter how much it may
hurt my pride. And now, I have training to go back to." With that,
Vegeta left the room.

Goku smiled, laughing at the mental image of himself going through
five emotions a minute. Eyeing the cupboards, he focused on his
stomach, wondering whether he'd be able to keep anything down.
Deciding on a maybe, he filled up a glass with milk and wandered off
to find Bulma.

"This," this time, Vegeta let his finger come into contact with

Untying his belt, he held the strip of blue material in his hand as

"Vegeta? I don't mean to sound awful about this, but you're being

Vegeta narrowed his eyes.
Goku: Since we all know what a moody bastard you are...
Vegeta: *tacklepunch*
Goku: GAAH! HE'S HITTING A PREGNANT MAN! *kickpunchslap*

Goku paused, then laughed.
"Anything else I should know about pregnancy, Vegeta?"
Vegeta paused, looking thoughtful for a moment.
Vegeta: Well... If you think I'M a moody bastard....

A startled noise from the doorway shocked both men out of their
silence. Two dark pairs of eyes widened as they focused on Bulma, who
in turn was staring at her friend and live-in ex lover.
Bulma: Well? Keep going!! *waves camera around*
