Epilogue

Videl looked at Pan and Trunks, now married, play with their new child. Ten years had passed since Gohan’s death…and she had survived. But there had always been emptiness where he had once been. The good news was that Pan and Trunks were so happy together. Their little baby girl would live a happy, peaceful life. Bulma and Vegeta were happy as well, having had a new baby boy named after his father and all those fathers before him. For now, life was good. Videl smiled and went back to living her life. Gohan may be gone in body, but she still held his spirit deep within her heart.

Gohan looked down at his daughter from Other World. He had made several attempts to convince King Kai and Baba to let him go back for one day, but they always said no. It would be painful, they said, you would refuse to come back, they said. Maybe this was so. But he had accepted this fact, although a little unwillingly, and continued to enjoy Other World. He looked down at Chikyuu often…whenever he thought that his father wasn’t looking. A smile crept over his face as he saw how happy his daughter was, but his wife was still empty. So was he, and he hoped Videl knew this.

Goku looked over at his son. He was looking down at Chikyuu…he always did. Gohan was always secretive about it, although he had no reason to be. That time on Vegetasei had brought out more of the Saiyan in him than before, but Goku was proud of his son. He dismissed these thoughts, though, as Gohan turned around. He looked happy, as well as ready to train. This was good: the next Other World Tournament was coming up and King Kai would not be happy if he lost.
